VST3 drum sequencer · v0.6.0

PULSE

A deterministic groove engine with room for movement.

Six sample lanes, host-PPQ sequencing, curated patterns, pattern memories, multi-output audio, and eight-bar MIDI export.

Architecture

The system behind the surface.

A C++20/JUCE engine separates sample loading from realtime playback. Host timing drives the internal grid; deterministic probability and humanization keep recalls stable while optional stereo lane buses support detailed mixing.

Engineering decisions.

Playback boundary

Internal Grid and MIDI Clip modes are mutually exclusive to prevent double triggering.

Deterministic variation

Probability and humanize can move the groove without producing irreproducible sessions.

Multiple outputs

Stereo master plus six optional lane buses support Ableton routing.

Arrangement handoff

Eight-bar MIDI export turns the generated scene into editable DAW material.
